Just as a heads up, I did that Chase Activate My Bonus deal today. On my Amazon card it triggered 3% cash back on gas through the end of September, along with 5% back on Home Improvement Stores and Restaurants. The gas might only be useful to somebody who has maxed out the 5% offers this quarter, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.
The other two offers are something I'll make use of. I don't have 5% in either category, other than using my Lowes card.
Also, I tried the Activate My Bonus gig on Freedom and Freedom Flex. One of them was blank. The other one activated 10% at Starbucks, although there may have been some catch to it. I have never had a sip of coffee in my life nor entered a Starbucks in my life so I quickly clicked away without paying any attention. But I remember there were plenty of rows and words. More than normal.
Somebody will be interested.

Did they change it recently or something? I've had that 5% gas card for a little over 7 years now (back when it was Fort Knox), and while it may say "at the pump", it's 5% on inside purchases too. I've been getting 5% back on spirits, colorful magazines, and gift cards since day 1. The amount I used to spend on gas station beer made it worth it right there.
Automatic monthly redemption with no minimum, UNCAPPED, completely trouble-free, so they get my vote as long as they haven't changed it for new applicants. They asked for some tax returns in order to get approved for the card. They didn't bother with a 4506-T like those other meanie companies do.
I'll tell you what! (Hank Hill voice) I am going to be using my GM Mastercard for gas from now on. I recently discovered it has a $100 statement credit for $1,500 in annual fuel purchases, which ain't hard to hit for me, especially with the current price of gas. That equates to about 6.6% cash back, plus the regular rewards of 4X points per dollar. AND I am also using Upside on top of that to get additional cash back. I am gonna see how things go during this first year of doing it. It could be worth having the SO get a second GM card just for the fuel credit....
Still getting 5% back on gas via PayPal with Discover
Came across this in an unrelated search today and thought of this thread. Unfortunately membership seems limited to several counties in MA (or requires relatives in said counties).
6% on gas purchases. Seems to be a new change as of 9/12/22 according to their Facebook page, not much information about any limits or whatnot.

Very cool. That's the highest base gas CB I have seen. The only exception is the stackable 2% + 5% Affinity, depending on the quarter. Good find.
After using Upside. It didnt work too well. Half the time. So I went with Gas Buddy. Ordered their card. Link to my checking. Go to the pump. Use the card then PIN. I fill up 8-10x a month w/3 jobs. Pay 9.99 a month for the best deals. Just started but I'll still come out ahead after the monthly fee. Its still new. I like it. Used it today for 0.32 a gallon off. Will post tommorow on the app. Reciept emailed in minutes once done.
The pump price stays the same. But when its billed to your checking. Only the discounted rate is taken out. So 20 bucks in a month? Not complaining. Beats what I got on card rates.
I thought GasBuddy was free?

It is. More savings for 9.99 a month. Pays for itself and then some if you use a lot of gas as myself.

Not to get too off topic but I looked into it and am I correct that you can't use a credit card to pay? Hence, you can't also get 5% CB from a credit card? You pay with your debit card? I could be wrong.
