Hi
I have not applied any credit card since 2014.
Right now I have Amex 25K, Discover IT 7500, BofA 10600, Citi DC 12000, Citi Thank You 11200, Chase 5000(Closed Balance reamining 2500), DCU 5000(Closed balance remaining 3500),Macys 300
I have a personal loan remaining 18000(5000 remaining), and an auto loan of 10K(6000 remaining) but interest is 22%
I did not have good scores because I was using 90% of my cards, now my utilization is less than 10%, my Fico score is 755
I want to refinance my auto loan but I am planning to pay off in 2 months this month 3000 and next month another 2000 or so. Also I started looking for homes recently, may be will get one in next few months, but that would be on my wife's name she has 815 credit score just two cards, Citi limit 10,000 and Discover it limit 10,000
So should I apply for a card now? if yes which one, I am looking for balance transfer or low apr, and would that effect the mortgage rate?
Thanks all in advance
You have closed accounts with balances on them? If so are they reporting 100 percent utilization? I would try and balance transfer those close account balances to a zero percent card. But if you want to apply for a mortgage and your FICO is 755 why would you not be on the mortgage? Anything over 740 and you get the best mortgage rate. If you are getting a mortgage I would focus on that first. Transfer your closed card balances to one of your existing cards.
Actually the lenders closed the cards, but are reporting balances... I am paying everymonth and also chase reduced the rate to 4.99 so I am just paying the chase card slowly and same with DCU they closed the card but are reporting the balances accurate...
My wife would be on Mortgage but I think her income would not let her get full mortgage may be they will have to add me
Okay Thank you. Should I pay the cards or pay the loan off? because my loan is 22%
I am looking for balance transfer
Amex Everyday currently seems to have a 0 balance transfer fee offer with 15months of 0% APR and you're an existing amex customer so you may even not get the hard inquiry.
For Amex I have this pre-approval on my screen
