Help me plan my next move/build portfolio

Scores: round 730 Fico8, no baddies. Oldest card: 5+ years. Income 80K. I went on an app/CLI spree. Regret being trigger happy with Amex, but ah well. I wanted to start building a relationship with them. I have 3-5 inquiries per report now.

BOA Platinum 5 yrs, CLI from 1.5K to 6.5K Oct 16
Amazon Card 4 yrs, CLI from 1.8K to 2.4K Oct 16
BestBuy Citi 4 yrs, CLI from 0.5K to 4K, Oct 16
Capital One Quicksilver, CLI from 1.5K to 4.5K Dec 16
[NEW Oct 16] Citi Diamond Preffered, CLI from 3.5K to 7.5K Nov 16
[NEW Oct 16] Chase Freedom Unl. 7K
[NEW Nov 16] Chase Sapphire Preferred 13K
[NEW Dec 16] CapOne Venture 5K
[NEW Dec 16] Amex Blue Cash EveryDay 2K

Plan: gardening, getting a CLI on Amex, CapOne, and maybe Chase Freedom Unlimited. BOA is fine and the Preferred 13K is high enough for me.
I also have an Alliant acount and plan to do a secured loan, since I hav zero installment loans on m profile.

Any tips? Generally, in the next 2-3 years, I want to keep my portfolio the same size but get better APRs and lose cards not useful to me (as usage will indicate)..or ones that have awful APR and won't improve. My APRS are 16-20%, but CapOne is at 23%+ for both cards...

Re: Help me plan my next move/build portfolio

Maybe check with BofA whether they can PC your Platinum to a 3-2-1 Rewards card. Are you getting BT offers from BofA for that card, at either 3% or 4% fee?

You got the Diamond Preferred in October and already got a CLI in November? Kudos for that. You can probably expect to see BT offers for that card at 3% fee, if you don't already.

If you want a low APR card, one to consider is Discover. Once you get a Discover card, you likely will see two BT offers: a traditional 3% fee for 0.00% APR, and a BT with No Fee for 4.99% APR. The 4.99% APR lets you charge items to your rewards card, then transfer it to the Discover for paying it down over time, which can be a short time with little interest cost and no up-front 3% BT Fee, and still keeping your rewards card pristine for future use, with no interest cost on those new reward charges to that card. The 5% categories on Discover are nice in many situations as well, and getting them to set you up with a 12-month 0% on Purchases is just another way this can be a low APR card (even though my APR with Discover is 18.24%)

Re: Help me plan my next move/build portfolio

Yes, I am getting BT rewards from them.

They also offer me three other credit cards:

Travel at 19% APR with 20k bonus points for 1k spending in 90 days

Better balance at 16% APR
Cash rewards at 17% APR 150 cash bnus if I spend 500 in 90 days

Yes, I had a happy trigger finger and asked for CLI on the Diamond right after I got it,.. to my shock.. I got it. I don't really want new cards, I hope I can get them to lower APRs on current cards, maybe, in some cases, when I upgrade them.

Understood, you don't want to get new cards. The point with the BT possibilities on the Diamond Preferred and BofA cards are, those are low APR offerings if you are planning to stretch out payments for the 12-18 months the BT 0% rate is paid for by the 3% or 4% fee.

Re: Help me plan my next move/build portfolio

Yes, I used the BT of the Diamond Preffered and also of Chase Freedom. I just hope I can stick with most of these cards and get lower APR.
