Helzberg Card

Hello,

I currently have a Helzberg Diamonds CC that I used to purchase my wife's engagement and wedding rings.  I have a credit limit of $4,800 and a 0 balance.  The card is an HSBC card.  I was wondering if it is possible to convert this card to a regular HSBC card?  Does anyone here have any experience doing this?  Thanks in advance.

Re: Helzberg Card

Ok, so maybe no one has experience with doing this with a Helzberg card.  So let's open it up to any store CC's that people had converted to traditional CC's.

Re: Helzberg Card

I know that some have pulled it off (can't remember which banks), but it's pretty rare. I was told by several CSR's that on these affiliate-type cards, there's a deal between the bank and the store that the bank won't allow it. They would be utterly delighted to do another hard inq and start you a new account with a brand-new opening date. Smiley Sad

I've tried several times to convert my Chase Borders Visa to a Chase Freedom; no go. Same with a Citi Sears MC. But it has been done. I'm thinking that there might be a minimum time that you have to have the card before they'll do it, but that's just theory on my part.
