I forgot to mention, the increase from $1800 to $6000 was the MC upgrade. From the post you linked it seems the 6 month CLI pattern comes after the MC upgrade.
I started $600 last April 2019 and 6 months later, increased to $5k and now I'm sitting $8500. I was told the limit for store card is $9500 and MC version is $15k.
Yes I had a feeling that you were upgraded to the MasterCard.
Yours was a massive graduation!
Don't how TD decides who gets the MasterCard upgrade (and at what credit limit.)

Interesting note about the max limits.
And wow, another massive graduation in a very short period.
I should just quote myself, but I'm still jealous. 😂 18 years later I seem to be stuck at $10,300. I was finally getting CLIs every June and December for 3 years, but didn't get one when my statement closed in December 2019 and haven't seen one since. $300-700 every month, let statement cut with balance, update income to the same number every month, and PIF was working for me for a while there. Now it's been 8 statements since I've had an increase. Hopefully I won't have to wait another 14 years or so again before they start up again.

In gathering some data from this forum, this is what I have come up with. The average Redcard SL is $600 and you get the MC upgrade when your limit gets to about $6,000. The lowest MC upgrade was when someone got to $2,000.
Redcard Starting Limit ($) | New MC Limit ($)
Average | 594 | 6,125 |
Min | 200 | 2,000 |
Max | 2,500 | 11,000 |
I am at 9k Target MC.

So if I apply for a Target Redcard, they automatically start you with the store version for $600? Or can you get an MC off the bat? I have the debit version, so I probably won't waste an HP, but I've always been curious. I shop at Target ALOT.

They start you with the store card and it can be as low as $250 I believe. I actually think some much larger than average limits are skewing things because most of us get $300-$500 to start.

Saeren is pretty close as per usual. Using a weighted average method, the SL is $351 vs. $594 (simple average.) Here is a shot of the data*:
Redcard Starting Limit ($) | Holders | Weight Factor | Weighted SL
200 | 3 | 600 | 0.075 | 45.00 |
300 | 17 | 5100 | 0.425 | 2,167.50 |
