my suggestion would be to use it now since they lowered the limit for the 0% financing for 12 months. I'm not sure how long they will have this in effect, so you may as well take advantage of it. (it's normally purchases $999 or more = 12 mos/0%)
haha Stew I was just thinking that! I want to swipe this bad boy!

Once you start getting prime cards, the urge to app will eat you alive
I would say you have worked hard and earned this card so go ahead and treat yourself with an iPad It will be an early Christmas gift for you.
I am thrilled to read this post from you. I know its been a long time coming.
CONGRATULATIONS AND ENJOY!
Congratuations! I'm considering apping for that, too. I *so* want an iPad and also would *love* to have that card. You sig shows your scores, which are similar to mine. Would you mind giving me an idea of what's on your CR? I have a thin file/short history, which is why I am concerned I won't be approved. Plus all of the CC showing right now have low limits, as my new CC and CLI aren't showingyet. I also have one collection due to drop off in january, but somehow I don't think that would be a factor (could be wrong, though).
Thanks! And enjoy your iPad! Which one are you getting?
BTW, this page shows how to place your order as soon as your credit is approved: https://www.barclaycardus.com/app/japply/misc/apple_faq.jsp
Thank you all so much. If it weren't for MyFico this would not be possible. Bichamon, my credit profile is thin as well. One Cap1 cc with 500CL from 2/11 with 4% utl. My second Cap1 cc with 500CL is not even reporting yet (activated it last week). I do have positive histories with multiple credit card co's (Amex, CITI, etc) dating back 10 years though. Currently I have two baddies (CO from 2005 and partially paid collection).
They never would have approved me if MyFico didn't teach me how to GW old CA's. I had two baddies deleted (and a third fell off) which really boosted my scores high enough. This is a big day in my life.
Just curious: on the app, it asks you how much you want to finance. Did you get the amount you asked for, or did you ask for more and did they counter with less?
Just wondering because I'd like a higher limit, mostly so it won't negatively affect my util so much. Also, the iPad is around $600 to $800 w/goodies, and you got $1900, so I'm thinking maybe you asked for a higher limit.
Thanks!
I asked for between $500-$1000. Was VERY surprised to see $1900. When my card arrives I'll be heading down to the Apple store and purchasing the 3G iPad2. It's very exciting. My computer is totally shot and this will be an affordable way to get something -- as well as build my credit with a major institution.
Thank you! How exciting to get more than you asked! You're giving me hope I'll get approved, too.
