13 "Bank" and 4 store. At least 11 of the bank cards have some balance. most ewill be PIF each month 7 are new this year.
I'm likely not doing this the right way but I had a "good" reason to get each of the 7 this year. Or maybe not
One day someone might let me get a CLI; those days may be far and few between until salary goes up

Yeah, it's mainly aimed for people who travel quite a bit+need a charge card for high amounts. I mainly got it because it was easier to obtain then a revolver, and I wanted to build some sort of history with them. What bugs me is I want the BCE, but they are still in-progressing my app. I applied for it just to see if I get it this time. If not, it's no big loss, but it would make sense, since I drive a lot and it would be an alternative card to my BOFA card, as well as I can still have an Amex without an AF.

Its funny you mentioned that. I also used AmEX by obtaining my first cc from them (PRG) to pave the way for easier access to better offer cards.
When you say processing do you mean you got the 7-10 processing message when you apped?
Several. See my sig. Gained 2 cards this year, 1 in January, 1 in February, when I was suppose to be in the garden. 1 card already gave me a CLI of $2k. The other one, I'm still debating to ask for a CLI.
I didn't see this kind of action with my sub-prime CapOne and Barclays cards. Life is good.
Going for 3 store cards in the fall: Banana Republic, J.Crew, and Macy's. I have a feeling they are friendly in the fall due to the shopping season.
5 I think... I dunno its been a while since I last checked my sig....
as you see lol!
@taun wrote:18 credit cards with a total credit limit of $122,250.00:
3 business cards (Amex, Chase, Citi)
2 store cards (Macy's & Dell)
13 personal from major issuers (Chase, Citi, Discover, etc...)
These were from the results of two "App-o-ramas". My limits used to be a lot higher before the credit crunch (e.g. Amex was at $24k before cut down to $2400), but I refuse to close any cards. I am responsible with my cards though and always maintain total utilization under 1%.
Btw, i keep track of all cards using Yodlee Money center.
+1 I feel the same way. its not about the number of cards if you are responsible with them and manage utilization well and to your advantage.
Two Bank cards, one secured one unsecured.

No more HPs for me unless it's from a company who's card I already have. Closed a bunch of cards this year so now I'm down to 8 instead of 13. Feeling proud.
I'm just curious why anyone would close a CC? Even if you dont like/use/whatever, it doesnt hurt your AAoA and UTL doesnt take a hit.
