How did you start and Where did you start?

Hey everyone i am a student and I am researching different card offers for myself to pursue as a second card. I would like a cashback card or a travel rewards card. I dont like points. I have been looking into the AA card for a couple months and look to have it one day since they offer 75,000 miles if you spend enough in 4 months. I have spoken with a couple users who have told me they applied about 3 months after first credit card. I have also spoken to others who believe the 6 month mark is necessary to avoid a ding on the credit report. Just looking for some insight and some credit talk.

Thanks!

You mean "Baddies", right?  LOL!!  The other would be irrelevant...

OP, if you are looking to add an AA card to your portfolio I would definitely have more history on your report.  The airline cards typically require higher scores and more established credit history.  Cap 1 might be a start for a cash back card or even BofA.

I know it's a typo...sorry, bunnyrabbit....but it's still funny, if you're as perverted as I am with the humor!

So far this is all i have reporting on my credit report. I am looking into getting a card around november or december and increasing my cl with citi. I am looking into discover, bofa, or possibly chase (i heard that they can be tough).

Just looking to gather information and any advice is appreciated

Re: How did you start and Where did you start?

I would wait at least a year before you try to get another card, especially if you want a prime cashback card. Make sure you PIF every month, and try to get a CLI (as long as it is a soft pull) in 6 months.

It's very good to plan in ahead.    Do you know your credit score is?

I agree with scientifics ~ keep your CR clean.
