I have read conflicting stories on here about how Amex feels about being paid by a BT.
I recieved the card in August and made lots of charges on it to meet my sign on points. I am going to make a payment for 1/2 the balance and would like to BT the other 1/2 to another credit card with a higher CL.
Im applying for a CLI next month (3x) and I don't want to BT the balance if it will affect my CLI chances.
Anyone have any issues with BT and not receiving a CLI?

A BT will not affect your chances at a CLI. AMEX doesn't care how they're paid

If you can get a balance transfer where the other issuer sends a check for you to deposit, obviously Amex wouldn't have to know. I don't know how visible it is in the other cases either, Amex just receives a check from, for example, a Citi bank account, with no indication that this is balance transfer
I've come to take most "issuer X in particular likes/dislikes consumer behavior Y" statements with a grain of salt.
Despite the temptation to use data points, true apples-to-apples comparisons are hard to find in adequate number. A lot of the "attitudes" MF may attribute to one particular lender could apply to many/most lenders.
Keep in mind that if you do a direct BT or "secret BT" via a check, Amex can still see you're carrying a balance on another account when they next SP you. That may set off other financial risk concerns unrelated to your doing a BT.
It's a bank. Pay them someway, somehow, and they will be happy.
Thanks everyone!
And by the way I plan to pay off the BT credit card that Im using quickly so it won't affect my utilization. Its another month before my other card reports, so this gives me some time for another few pay checks to pay it with.
