For me it was closer to a marathon. Got the BCE, my first in 17. One year later is when I decided to app the Gold and Gold Delta at the same time. then about another year later I opted for the Every Day for the BT promo. Few months later I went for the Bonvoy because of the high point offer and locked in $95 AF until 2021, when it goes to $135. A couple months after that approval I went for the BBP, again for the BT offer.
That said, I have read reports of people getting revolvers at a much quicker pace. However, one should probably wait 3 months between apps so that Amex can get a beat on you. Or a person could get the insufficient experience verbage from them. Although it will also depend on that person's profile.
I got the Gold in Sept. 18, closed in Sept. 19.
Platinum and Everyday in March, Delta and Everday Cash in November, so 3 revolvers with total 19k CL, 4 cards approved in between. I'll check pre-quals again in February or March - I also want the Hilton
My profile may be a bit of an outlier when compared to others who have several AmEx revolvers, but below is a general timeframe when I acquired the most recent 4 (personal & biz):
PLATINUM DELTA SKYMILES 5/2019
BUSINESS SIMPLYCASH PLUS 6/2019
BLUE BUSINESS PLUS 9/2019
LOWES BUSINESS REWARDS 11/2019
First credit card 11/13.
PRG at 5/14
BCE at 8/14.
EDP at 4/15.
Schwab Platinum at 3/16.
SPG around 2/17.
BBP at 4/18.
Delta Platinum around 6/19.
I was getting plenty of cards from other issuers and wasn't in any particular rush for a 4th Amex. Amex never declined any of my applications. PRG went pending for a day or two.
It took Me a little over 30 years!
Took me about 14 months. I was in no rush and all were approved instantly. My second card (Everyday) had the largest limit on approval.
4 pretty quickly. The 6th one is the hard one as they call you up and close one if you want to be approved.
Not too long. I gotz 6 AMEX's now (4 Revolvers)
AMEX Platinum (11/2017)
AMEX Gold (10/2018)
AMEX Everyday (05/2018)
AMEX Blue Cash Everyday (02/2018)
AMEX Delta Blue (Downgraded from AMEX Delta Platinum) (10/2017)
AMEX Delta Gold (10/2019)
Next up, and probably last is AMEX Hilton Aspire OR AMEX Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant
