What is the new method you guys are doing to make this happen now? I saw a thread but I didn't see the "reply" button and I was kind of lost. But is paypal key still working with discover for paying things over the phone?
It should work with payments over the phone, but all you have to do is set up Paypal Key and choose Discover as the primary card to be charged. There is some identity verification stuff when setting up PPK, but it should still work anywhere MC is accepted.

I already have a paypal key account but I was under the impression that months ago a post said paypal key no longer works with Amex cards. Is it exactly the same as last year as far as how to use it?

I'm confused here. The thread topic is asking about Discover but your post is asking about Amex. Are you actually asking about Amex or Discover? In any case, here's the catch all: Amex doesn't work. Discover works. Visa works. Mastercard works. Just go to your paypal key and choose the card you would like to use in the settings.

This, with the caveat that some merchants won't accept paypal key, e.g. the official IRS tax payment services
Is there a way to get a PayPal key if it hasn't shown up in your account?

Did you create one?
It doesn't "show up", you have to create one if my memory serves me right

You can try the set-up link in this help article here, it worked for me and nothing showed up on my account inviting me to sign up.

Thanks!
It worked for me, too. With no invitation.

I was referring to a thread months ago when it was announced that amex cards wouldn't work with PayPal key. There was debates as to whether that includes discover cards since they work on amex network or whatever. That is the whole reason I made the thread to clear it up as to whether discover still worked with PayPal key.
