Combined with a new mortgage last month and a cut in pay due to some loss in business, I've been getting cash advances on some of my CCs so I can use those funds to cover minimum payments to temporarily get by. Unfortunately, I'm down to just a couple of options and one is to get a cash advance on my Amex Green. Is that possible and how do I do that? I have a First Premier payment due on Sunday and could use an extra $25. I tried at the bank, but they said "No".
I would not take cash advance on amex card. That can lead to head aches with amex.
You have to request a PIN.
did u select the option to pay over time with the green amex? if you did I believe that u can and also u could probably do a BT of the FP card to the amex or another one of your cards which would probably be a better move and close the FP (monthly fees, AF, and high interest) no need for that card anymore especially now your in the amex family
I've got the pin. Would they be cool if I took out $1000 spread over a month or so across 4-5 different transactions?

I'm not sure. I have no experience with those types of tranactions. I learned about requesting a PIN from previous posts about this same topic.

Argggh. I haven't used my Discover yet, does anyone know if that will work? Any other options?

You can log into your Discover account and hit the request cash now button. If eligible they can deposit it in your checking account. Or you can do a cashover at a participating store.

How about a payday loan? I hear that their interest rates are quite reasonable. You may want to take out a very large payday loan and keep the extra cash on hand for these sort of contingencies in the future.
