How to get a or reduction

How would you go about getting a reduction? I'm never late and always pay more than minimum. I have kept a balance though, but because I've had things come up lately. I actually notice one card's apr went up? Just wondering if it has to do with utilization, or your actual scores

Re: How to get a or reduction

APRs went up due to federa rate increase. Pretty much all cards have a variable rate of prime + whatever margin the bank sets.

As for APR reductions, which bank/card are you referring to?

Re: How to get a or reduction

lately I've had great success by just calling CS and asking them to reduce my APR.  Done by all I've asked except USAA. Still a couple left to do.

Re: How to get a or reduction

If it is not on a Chase account (Chase does not discuss APR) then you can call in and ask for an APR reduction and see how far you get. As for the increase most cards have increased by 0.25% due to the fed increase mentioned above. Good luck!

Re: How to get a or reduction

capital one and chase will both keep you at your starting APR in many cases. cap1 will give you like a 7 month decrease of about 4-6% but it's just temporary. really, just call or chat and ask. worst they can do is say no.
