Re: Howe many credit cards have you appd for so far in 2008

Wow.  You were really busy and it's only the 21st day of the new year.  I hope you are not planning on apping any more this year.  Did you receive any of the cards you apped for?

I haven't app'd for anything in 2008 - yet!

I just got to the point where I have no CC debt - first time since I got my first CC when I was 19 (just turned 36 two days ago). It's an awesome feeling! I'm planning on gently using my CCs and PIFing every month, let things age, and keep on cleaning up my CR.

Now that is a plan.  Time and patience.  Well done!!!

Does business count?

Office Depot, Conoco, Dell, Tech Depot (net 30).

Oh, and I'm a preapproved member of the Justice League (JFCU) on the personal side.

None in 2008!  I am paying off balances and increasing credit limits. I will not be applying for any new lines of credit.

Must let my accounts age

Re: Howe many credit cards hacve you appd for so far in 2008

One...Target Visa $5000 limit...and I'm totally upset with myself for doing it. Just apped 3 days ago so I have no idea how it will affect my scores, but the one card I applied for and received in 2007 (WAMU) lowered my score from 738 down to 708. I was just starting to recover from that hit.
Timothy...what did all those apps in 2007 do to your credit?

One app -- got a Cap1 w/ a 3k CL

Requested a CLI on Target Visa...  Denied!

I'm about 6 months out from final pulls for a mortgage so I'm finished pulling until that's over!

Hi Ducky,

Thanks for the tip, I also found your success story, here. Maybe I'll try when the letter comes in. Also, I plan to PIF this card on Friday. So maybe I'll call next Monday? Or the sooner the better?

They are now offering a promo BT that I'd like to take advantage of.
