Re: I closed my Aspiration Zero card today

Wow... that's different.  Beneficial Bank is on MyFico.  Color me impressed... kind of.

I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often!  When you consider how often issuers are (rightly or wrongly) bashed by anonymous posters, which in some cases becomes almost MyFico lore ("Amex hates....", "Barclays is a jealous") a chance to respond would be good.   That said, if a poster feels a bank is bad, but is for some reason still having to deal with them (e.g. large CC balance) they probably won't want to reveal themselves as the complaining poster.

Re: I closed my Aspiration Zero card today

@longtimelurker I tried to talk to the bank for a very long time before I posted my thread, so losing my anonymity was not a concern, and as I stated, I paid off my small balance when I closed the card.

I believe that Beneficial State Bank posted their generic response so that they would be on record when my post comes up in google searches on the Aspiration card (which it does)

The bank's post is the type of generic response you would get from a Twitter or Facebook page if you posted a message. Maybe it's because they didn't resolve my situation at all, and their communication was abysmal, but color me unimpressed with their showing up on my thread Smiley Happy

Yes, I agree but I would assume other banks to do it for similar reasons!

Re anonymity, all I meant is that people speak to the institutions and then post here, and the bank doesn't (probably) know the complaining customer 1 is the same person as poster 2.

And..... not that it matters but the bank posted a similar message in this thread (it contained a link) about a week ago.   I posted a reply that amused me but apparently some [description left to imagination] person found it violated ToS and it, along with the bank's message, were deleted.

Re: I closed my Aspiration Zero card today

@longtimelurker what is ironic in Beneficial Bank's post is that if I had called "credit card operations" I am willing to bet money my experience would have been just as bad as before.

Beneficial is not equipped to deal with customers directly except through their 3rd party front-line support, and that 3rd party support can only transfer customers to a voicemail inbox that never gets answered  (at least in my experience).

It happens more often than you think

It's just that some are 🤐 while others will engage (rarely) in ⌨️.
