I know it does not mean definitely but....I got a preapproval letter from American Express today. It was for the blue sky card. I saw that they checked my credit back in mid October and was kind of bummed that I never got anything from them. Well, it came in today and it made me feel really good about how things are going. I knew you guys here would understand....I've just been looking at the envelope all day....too bad I'm chained in the garden

That's a really great sign! If you are at all interested in a relationship with Amex in the long term; I would encourage you to apply before year end to lock in a 2012 member date for future backdating goodness.

congrats!

i recieved a few discover pre approvals in septemberish and then a bunch of credit ones and cap ones.

coming from someone who has never had a pre approval.

Lately, I got 2 offer from Citi: Ty Preferred, and Simplicity.

My preapprovals have been strange....I went from getting boa & discover to FNBO to capital one and fingerhut (they won't leave me alone) to now getting American Express. It's been a strange ride.....lol

@Webhopper...I would love to get in with Amex but I am scared to app for anything else at this point. I feel like I would be pressing my luck
