Gotta love sub-prime lenders... different rules apply to different people and profiles.. Well I guess that is true with prime lenders too being APRS etc...
Real nice! Totally arbitary as to how they dish out the increase....lol

They'd have to pay me to take an increase from them, let alone a card from them.

Not as cute as the fact I am actually blacklisted from Credit One... I had their card back in '07 and '08... and included like a $300 balance in my Ch 13.
Hopefully my credit profile won't be permanently scarred by this... I had their card back when I was stupid and didn't have all you people here at myFICO steering me in the right direction.

I'm blacklisted too.
Gladly.
I saw this post at work when it was first posted and I was closing up shop and I was tempted to comment and basically say what Nixon said, that OP was victimized, but I held my tongue because I thought it sounded harsh. But, I came home and was eating my dinner and reading this on my cell phone and I was gonna start typing then, but I came and pulled out my laptop and now I'm dying to say my piece:
1. Screw Credit One, f predatory lending, f this kind of marketing tactic, it actually infuriates me.
2. OP, how you posted your current stats was perfect, it allows everyone to get a grasp on what's going on with you and I wish everyone would do it like that.
Here's what I want to say. You ever wonder why they talk about about money lending and ursury in the bible? You ever think about the role of the banks in our recent economic crash? I once said on this website that compound interest is a b--ch. I was recently reading an article in the NY Times. They were talking about the latest in scammy loans.

The new thing is to take a loan out putting up your car as collateral. It's a similar type thing to a payday loan. The effective interest rates can be from 80% to nearly 500%. They prey on the poor and uneducated and these lenders know people rely heavily on their vehicles and will keep making payments, however excessive, up to the bitter end. They need the car to get to work and just to live life.
Anyway, I have no love for lenders like this and the way the game is played. That's why I never pity the banks if the tables get turned. They're always going to win.
OP, you came to the right place. You can get it back on track. One day they'll be giving you money to take their cards and use them instead of the other way around. But, no, that was not a good decision. OTOH I can see the appeal. We all want to increase our CL, and a quick button push to do it is extremely appealing, especially if you're not sure if with your credit scores it will be approved the traditional way. Keep chugging along, follow good advice, and you'll get to where you want to be.
Thanks every,
Yeah Chris, the only thing that I have to achieve is clearing out the two collections. And yes, my payment history is A+ for the length of my credit file for the last 24+ months.

OP I think everyone has been pretty spot on with the advice so far. Close Credit One today they are not a card that you put in the sock drawer you put them in the garbage disposal. Focus on getting the medical collections removed that is actually pretty easy to do then assuming your payment history is good you should be in the 700 club and companies will be falling all over you for your business. Like the nerdy kid in the teen movie that gets the makeover and now everyone wants to get with them.
