What amazes me the most is that people seem so accepting of this method of "customer service".  Even to the point of excitement after being made to jump through hoops and then pleased with the crumbs they are given.

I personally don't see where Capital One was in the wrong. The computer offered a $500 increase and  it wasn't accepted. The underwriter is a human and can look at more than a computer, so felt that $400 was all that was qualified for. NYFan63 already has another Capital One card at 5.6, which puts them at about the middle compared to the other credit limits. I don't know everything about their report, but I don't see what the issue is here.

I kinda agree with you...  Cap1 use to be the WORSE with credit lines, but within the last yeart they actually have got there act together and are offering decent CL's and CII's through credit steps which never existed before about a year ago?  As a lot of people who have been with capital one for years know they were stuck with pathethic limits.  Now all of a sudden people with "BAD" credit overall are getting 2-3k starting limits.

Anyway, it is a PITA to have to go through the EO office to get a CLI, if for some reason you do have a good FICO and the auto CLI system criteria spits you out for some reason and you have to go through the whole manual review which is fine, just takes time.  Cap 1 has helped me when others wouldn't and I have grown to other cards and I thank them for that, but some of there policies are just silly, but they seem to be changing and getting better!

No - my CL was 1600 on one of three Cap1 cards - they gave me $500 CLI online when I submitted a CLI request- called EO - they gave me $400

So they did 1,6K to 2K? Sorry but you cannot expect 1,6K to 10K....just ask every 6 months ...slowly step by step...work your way up ..it is not Amex with 3x CLI. Good luck!

Doesn't really work like that for everyone either. I started at 3k on my cap1 card, got a credit steps CLI to 3500, around 2 years ago. Every CLI request has been denied since then, even through the EO. Their only reason is that "Your credit score is not high enough" but they always use a pull from 3-5 months before my CLI request.

The exact same issue I'm having at my 6 month mark post previous CLI. They are using a July 2014 Equifax score. Smiley Frustrated

Must be. I got some BS response that their system updates every 2-6 months... or something to that affect. Can't remember exactly. Crazy, though!

Re: I'm Done with CAP1- EO Response to Higher CLI

Stands to reason why I didn't get an EQ score from Cap1 the last time I pressed the CLI button just for kicks. Hmm..
