QS1, Juniper, and Merrick.
Good for you, CAPTOOL! I'm going to do some major trimming as some of my cards age. I'm at 17 right now and would like to get down to 7-8 by the end of the year.
I want everything to show it was open for a year or more (so it doesn't look like I was churning on a manual review)
. I also want to drive up some of my credit limits through SP CLIs so I can maintain decent UTL.

@Anonymous wrote:So, I've picked up six new cards this year. Feels great! But, I've also closed three. That also felt good, sort of the opposite of the norm around here. Is there something wrong with me?
Not a thing. Since May, I got 7 new cards and closed 6 old ones. And maybe 1 more closure by the end of the day (Target cut my 24th statement with no CLI). And it feels good too!! 😉

Tell her thank you. haha

Its liberating.
Exactly! I feel the same way. Love closing those cards...
once it's paid off.
+1
I paid off and closed 5 cards just last week-3 cap ones that I know wont grow to 10k like I want and barclay choice rewards toy limit which was completely useless and gap store card which wasnt really doing much for me other than had me thinking I should keep spending money that I really shouldnt be at this moment.
I feel liberated!

Nothing wrong with you at all. I've closed quite a few myself. Closing Delta next month as a matter of fact. Diners is getting the axe in November. When cards no longer serve a purpose or you can't justify an af, ditch em!
Closing Diners Premier = Cra Cra. ![]()
And closing Delta?
I am all for closing cards when they don't work out for you. I closed my AMEX Delta Platinum within 8 months of opening last year, but I have Delta Gold, closed the US Bank Travel Rewards within about 4 months, but Diners Premier... it's quite literally comparable benefits to $350 and $450 cards without the monster AF to dig out of. Chip and PIN, transferrable points to several partners. Your choice, not the one I would make ![]()

Preach! My Gap Silver has a reward on it that has been calling my name to be spent! But that reward won't save the card from being axed later this year! I promised myself to cut back on all the fast fashion this year, and that card is a part that has to go!
My ideal lineup would be no more than 6 or 7 credit cards with high limits, so I'm slowly trying to make my way there ![]()

You alwyas have to consider your sources. Norm doesn't matter. It's always about what works for the individual. The goal shouldn't be just to mimic what's popular and that applies to much more than just credit cards in life.
