If you had to pick just one Visa/Master card that hands down is the best card out there, which one would it be?
I'd probably find it easier to pick my favorite child

This Month LOL freedom!!!! Really like 5% cat. Going now
I would think this would be a bad choice for a single card. It might be valuable as part of a suite of cards. But that 5 percent is limited to 1500 of spending a quarter. And I don't see how most people are going to spend 1500 in gas in a quarter. Buf for sake of argument you had 40k of spending on credit cards a year and you max out categories:
6000 x .05 = 300
34000 x .01 = 340
Grand Total = 640 dollars a year on 40k spending
Now compare to a 2 percent on anything card
40000 x .02 = 800 dollars.
And since they have rotating categories that aren't announced in advance it could be much worse than this.
If I had to pick one I currently own, Amazon Store card. I shop there so much, sometimes too much.
Late edit: Just not saw you mentioned Visa/MC. Oops.
