Re: Is Barclays Crazy??

CapOne is my lowest APR (11.9%), and there are no fees to use the checks they even said i could deposit the money in my own account. And they are not treated as a cash-advance no interest if paid before my statement cuts Use them at my favorite grocery store they don't take credit and haven't re-ordered my checks from my checking account in years. Just don't write enough checks and the bank will do bank checks in any amount for free.

If it is a rewards card I assume you are not all that concerned with the APR, though I too always prefer have the lowest rate available regardless if it is a PIF/ rewards card or not. If though you want one of their lower rate cards a bit better suited to carry an ocassional balance, perhaps check if it can PC to the Ring?

Re: Is Barclays Crazy??

Balance Transfer Check came with my new card (US AIRWAYS) also, but it has 0% interest on balance transfers for first 15 months. Same as the other balance transfers with new account. I called them it counts as a balance transfer not cash. Its 3% fee for first 15 months then 4% after. For this account at least.

I received a similar offer with my Carnival MC in June.  It was 0% interest till September of 2013 and the fee was only 2%.  I took them up on that offer and used the check to make a down payment on a piece of forclosed property I plan to rent out Smiley Happy

Re: Is Barclays Crazy??

The current APRs offered on the Apple Visa are listed in the terms:

Interest Rates and Interest Charges

Annual Percentage Rate (APR) for Purchases

22.99%

This APR will vary with the market based on the Prime Rate.

APR for Balance Transfers

22.99%

This APR will vary with the market based on the Prime Rate.

APR for Cash Advances

25.24%

This APR will vary with the market based on the Prime Rate.

Penalty APR and When it Applies

Up to 30.24%, based on your creditworthiness.

This APR may be applied to your account if you:

  1. Make a late payment;
  2. Go over your credit limit; or
  3. Make a payment that is returned.

This APR will vary with the market based on the Prime Rate.

How Long Will the Penalty APR Apply? If your APRs are increased for any of these reasons, the Penalty APR may apply to other balances indefinitely.
