So...now that they've change the reward level for Savor...any chance they will make the Quicksilver Card a 2% cash back card?
Sure would be nice!
I gave up on this thought when I applied for the PayPal cashback 2%.

The chance always exists, though, that if the PayPal 2% MC, which seems to be aimed at more or less the same market as the QS, becomes popular enough, Capital One might want to compete and thus up their game with the QS. I wouldn't mind if that happens.

I'd still welcome the move. This might also trigger a 2% cashback war: consumer wins. I also do like Capital One better than Synchrony. However, though, this seems unlikely to happen anytime soon, if it even happens. I think bigger players are content with 1.5%, for now. Even Amex just released the Cash Magnet (1.5%) — which they believe is still highly relevant (but pointless for me, personally).
In all honesty, I've always thought of Capital One's card line up as "good enough" but not "market leading" and so far it's been mostly true. May have something to do with the fact that they are not known for going after the premium high end of the market. In any case, as much as I'd like for them to, I wouldn't hold my breath for them to all of a sudden come out with a blockbuster no-AF card or even an AF card. The QS is one of my older cards, so I've basically resigned myself to putting a monthly newspaper subscription on it and calling it a day.
Here is what I think they should do...
Venture
$95 AF
$500 SUB
Metal card
3% on everything credited towards travel purchases
10% back on Uber and Lyft
10% off Hotels.com
-------------
Venture One
$0 AF
$250 SUB
Plastic Card
2% on everything towards travel purchases
10% back on Uber and Lyft
10% off Hotels.com
----------
QS
$95 AF
Metal Card
$250 SUB
2.5% cash back on everything
------------
QS1
$0 AF
Plastic Card
$0 SUB
2.0% cash back on everything
I think they could really dominate the rewards world if they could afford it.

I think a $95 AF for 2.5% CB is a bit rich even with a SUB. Alliant only charges $59 AF after the first year for their 2.5% CB card and you get 3% during the first year. Considering an explicit requirement for the card is $50K+ annual spend, that extra 0.5% equates to $250 extra in the first year as effectively an SUB. So still not really market leading.
