Is SPG my best option?

Hi everyone, I'm in need of your advice for my credit card choose. I am currently searching for a travel card that's mainly for redeeming airlines rewards. Particularly the ones that have more Asia destinations from the U.S.(I am expecting at least one Asia trip per year). I currently have AAdvantage but I found that AA have very limited Asian destinations. United Airlines has much more and would be an idea choice for me based on my current location and destinations.  I was recently told that SPG have a great bonus with 35,000 points. But I found the downside is that when transfering points to United, it's 2 starwood points = 1 miles, which is not worthy. However, I also discovered that SPG's points could also be transfered to Hainan airlines& Air China, which could be useful for me. I am aware that Chase's travel cards including United itself could be more powerful when it comes transfer points to United. But for some reasons, I'm not considering Chase's cards at this point.  I just heard about SPG couple hours ago and still have very limited knowledge of this card.  I'm wondering is there any other better cards than SPG that could meet my need? Or is this the best one? Although this is a Hotel card, is it worthy to use it for airlines mainly? Any input would be appreciated!

I wouldn't.

If you like Marriott hotels you can combine it with a Marriott or Marriott business bonus or both to get a night and flight package.

Another option is to consider the Bank of America Alaska Airlines card. Alaska has partnerships with many asian-destination airlines, and even can earn Alaska miles from several partners. The partnership with Delta is going away, but Alaska is competitive to try to get world-wide destinations.

Great advice NRB525. I have the BofA AK Siggy. I use it to accrue mileage and I purchase miles when AK Air has the bonus going. Right now it is 40% extra. I use the mikes to go to the Philippines Business Class via Cathay Pacific every year. Can als go on Asiana, Hainan, JAL.
