Skymogul pretty much hit the nail on the head in this thread. There are two perspectives in play here. 1. from a company standpoint 2. from a consumer standpoint
If you think companies love consumers who use their card and pay in full on a consistent basis, you're sadly mistaken. Why on earth from a company standpoint would I favor somebody with the same credit line (lets say 20K) who uses their card every month but pays in full every month over the guy who carries a big balance and pays just the minimum? As long as the guy who carries a balance is paying the minimum each month, he or she will always be favored over the person who pays in full each month.
When you speak about keeping utilizations low on your credit cards and not carrying big balances, you're speaking on behalf of yourself not the company. There's a big difference.
