Wow, interesting indeed.... I remember this was a 'rumor' last year Q3/Q4.
Do you guys think this has anything to do with extending Delta's partnership? (Delta's rewards changes also went downhill)
Are these the individual companies choices or AMEX's ?
So many questions!

The only amex cards i would touch right now i think are spg, plat, or prg lol. Delta devaluation and taking away award charts are making me an bit wary about them.

Here we go...Lol. Relax.
I'm by no means excited about a $300 signup bonus, but the chance to go in for one last churn on a card that's going away to a new issuer....Very cool indeed.
anything more than 4 amex cards i would start to be worried lol
Hmm, I'm at 3 revolvers and 2 chargers.
I slid a few other applications in that are still technically pending - ANA and Aeroplan. They both called to see if I was a human.

I need a revolver with AMEX so I'm leaning towards Delta Reserve...
Hotel cards like SPG are out since I usually stay between Ritz and Marriott properties.
I guess AMEX's extension of partnership with Delta is saying something.... as to what, I'm not quite sure yet.
Nothing was official in the jetblue case. and they be the ditcher here. but from what ive read amex is the ditcher is Costco case. as they wanted more money. their stocks fell the last couple of days due to costco being about 8 percent of all amex sales. but no matter what. its a keeper. with a 25k limit.
Delta re-signed their contract with AMEX last month for several years going forward, so that one is safe to get.

@mong, what is the highest possible SPG bonus?
35k i think was highest last year, its 25k right now, but i am not applying for any new amex cards this year!!!!
I wonder what the award structure will be for Jet Blue card with Barclays? Pretty strong move by them to get someone signed with US Airways going away.
