Just A FYI--Venture SUB Back to 50K Miles...

I thought it would go at least until the end of the year. Was thinking of getting another one right before Jan. 1st. Guess some of us missed the boat.

Re: Just A FYI--Venture SUB Back to 50K Miles...

I suspect it was such a quick promo because as SUB offers go, this was perhaps the most expensive to the bank, particularly relative to the AF. A Venture SUB is $750 hard cash because the purchase eraser has no negotiating power with the airlines or hotels you choose for the reimbursement. With MR and UR, the hard cash option is less, transfer partners are at a discount for the bank. US Bank Altitude may be similar though VISA Infinite swipe fees may be more than Venture gets.

Savor is still on my list of potential apps.

Cap 1 has no reward "system" across multiple cards. They will have to up Venture to at least 3x before people will get tempted.

I hope they also loosen up on the approvals with the back-to-normal SUB. It seemed like getting this card was just as hard as winning the lottery for people here.

Yeah, unfortunately I don't see Capital One relaxing the UW criteria for a while, especially for Venture and/or Savor.

Given the economic market outlook, losses, rising delinquencies, etc., it's bound to be like this for a bit. Granted, with the tighter UW criteria, they can afford to be a little more selective. Which explains why the 75K SUB only lasted for so long.

Re: Just A FYI--Venture SUB Back to 50K Miles...

I was almost tempted to try for the Venture just for the SUB, but would probably have been denied. I did try their prequalify tool a few times though and Venture never showed up. I guess I don't have to worry about the temptation now! I still have my eye on Savor though.
