Okay so was trying not to apply for anything after my recent Discover IT approval in early January, but couldn't resist it and applied for the Chase Sapphire Preferred after contemplating whether or not to save $400 on the international tickets I'll be buying in a couple of days.
Well (even though had a pretty good feeling I would be approved), I was instantly approved (was quite quick if I may say, about 13.2 seconds)

you better be saving a lot more than $400-500 on international tickets with that card 
that's only 1 cent a point, UR points are worth much more than that! remember to transfer the points to United for the best bang for the buck. I get 4.3 cents worth this way. Study how to spend your points before you use them. There's many ways.

I thought I would get 2% cash back if I used my CSP and booked through an agent?
Also my brother in law has the CSP and we looked at the Ultimate Rewards mall for booking through that site via his CSP account, and there's a difference of $230 per ticket. The agent I'm going through I always buy tickets through so he gives me a very good discount.
