Just blew myself to 40% util

I just blew myself to 40% util over the past week. Sigh....

Luckily everything that will carry a balance is at 0% for the next 11-14 months. Smiley Very Happy And not to worry, I have my massive "better than mint.com" spreadsheet to keep myself organized.

Life changes can be so expensive sometimes.

life throws stuff in the mix at times

Knock it down

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: Just blew myself to 40% util

Maybe coulda worded that a little better lol

At least you got the spreadsheet going. It makes a huge difference in keeping things orderly and making sense. You'll work it out.

I got some cards with some credit limits. Some are better than others.

hmmm....I haven't been that flexible in....uhh never. Smiley Wink

conservative estimates put me at nearly 0% util at the end of Q1 2014. just shy of of when my 0% apr's run out. if something throws me off, I'll get a Slate or a Simplicity and transfer what remains.

Re: Just blew myself to 40% util

My Apple Visa just reported before I could even make the first payment. It's at 90% util.

On top of that, my Chase Freedom reported earlier than I was expecting, and that's sitting at 60% util. Again, before I could drop a payment. Woo.

Both combined to rocket my total util from 15% to an abyssmal 45.47%. Ugh.

Granted, it'll be down to <35% by the end of the month and this was planned for, but the temporary score hit is still depressing.

Thankfully, both cards are in their 0% APR periods.

I Have Way Too Many of These.

American Express - No CLI or Appreciation Gift in 7 Years

Citibank - Handing Out Credit Limits Like Candy

Chase - Surprisingly, Still Tolerating My Credit-Chasing Ways

Bank of America - My Newest Bae.

Everyone Else.

Re: Just blew myself to 40% util

I charged up to like 90% on one a couple months ago and paid it down as quick as possible. That card and all my cards are now several miles away from me physically and for good reason. I have to think a bit before charging anything if they are in a hard to get place. I was aweful with credit in the past and I live in fear every day of going into debt again. I have a major life drama mama for a wife so I have reason to be afraid.... She doesn't know I have credit cards. She thinks my credit score is still in the 400s and that I still owe tons of debts. It is better for me that way for now....
