Just got approved for credit card?? What's your score?

Well, here's the thing...I've been banking with Chase for many years and received a pre-approved application.  With my credit history though, I thought that it would be denied.  As we all know, pre-approved doesn't mean approved. My score is only 555 and I do have baddies on my reports.  However, they pulled all three cr's and approved me for $4000.

I was pre-approved, although being pre-approved doesn't necessarily mean that you're going to get any farther than submitting the application.  I, like you, had been under the impression that Chase Mastercards were for those with high cr scores, but my scores are below 600 and yes, I have baddies on my reports (although I'm working hard to clean them up).

how do you have a 555 score with no baddies? 

edit: nvm thought u said no baddies.. what were ur baddies and how old

Kay Jewelers ran a EQ on me, and I have a 585, no baddies at all. Longest account history is 8 months, they approved me for 2800!!!!! Wooot! That will help my UTL.

On 12/16/2008, I applied for a Discover More card since I kept receiving their 'Pre-Approved" invitations. On a whimsy, I decided to apply and was approved for a $3,500.00 CL with a 0% APR until july. I believe they pulled Experian (705). On 12/18/2008, I applied for an American Express Green Rewards card; it too was approved. Not sure which CB report they pullled, though (maybe EQ which is currently 699). Does anyone have any horror stories about these issuers?
