I still have some old negs, but otherwise I'm doing "okay." I did the Cap One see if you're prequalified thing a few minutes, and it didn't couldn't find any cards for me apparently, so I think I'm not yet there. Also, technically I have 2 cards with them, and it seems like I remember hearing they don't approve you for more than 2. Is this correct?

Only two subprime products.
The second Cap One card I'm on as an authorized user, $1000 limit. My TU score is 621, haven't checked the others in a while, but it is usually my lowest. So I could even be around 650. My average account is 6 years.
Then get another cap one, because AU cards don't count. Also, buy your scores. We can't predict without accurate info.

is the QS MC (not QS1) considered subprime?

Depends what it was originally.
I think I'd rather wait about a year, when my scores should go up quite a bit, if there's not a decent chance of being approved for QS. I don't really care if it's subprime since I don't hold a balance, but I do make a lot of charges and would love to get rewards(however minimal).

How do you feel about Barclay's?
Doesn't look too bad, the free FICO score would be nice.
