Your Cap One will do you just fine in the FICO world. You've outgrown FP and dont' need to pay their fees anymore. Time to let go - your CapOne bought you a nice bit of freedom!
I'm a little worried about AAoA and total overall accounts. Before I close FP should I wait until I have a 3rd revolving account? Any guesstimates as to how the FICO score would change with the opening of a new account and closing of the old?
AAoA won't be hurt until 10 years after closing the account.

I do think that it would be a good idea to get a third card first. Otherwise, all you'll have is the Cap One card. It's never a good idea to have just one source of credit.
What are your EQ and TU FICO scores? What baddies do you have, and with whom, and how long ago? How old is your credit?
I would look into a card from a credit union, or possibly a store card at this point, depending on what your answers are to my somewhat nosy questions above. ![]()
eta: meant to add, here's a good reference for understanding the impact of closing a card: fused's Closing Credit Cards

both scores are from myfico
EQ: 656 (9/14/10)
TU: 649 (10/3/10)
I currently have EOS-CCA being reported on both EQ/TU, DOFD - 6/2005, PIF - 4/2009. Trying to GW.
The only other baddie is "Innovative Collections" on TU, amount of $55; DOFD 6/2007, PIF 7/2008. Also trying to GW. AAoA is 1 year, currently have just the FP card and an auto loan. Loan was originally for 10K, balance is currently $5,600.
I recently had some inquiries fall off as well as a GW deletion of a baddy on TU, so I think that should bump my score up a bit. Planning on waiting until CapOne reports so I can check the score again.

Sounds like I plan. One more month of FP fees won't kill you, but I definitely wouldn't ask for a CLI. You'll get charged 50% over whatever they give you. ![]()
