To avoid a hp and possibly get a MasterCard you could try the SCT through Comenity bank ie. Ulta (mastercard), Ann Taylor (MC), etc. Or for one hp with a possible MC from Walmart or Sam's club (Synchrony bank).

yes, but it's iffy.....you have to just try and see if it asks for your last 4 of ss#. I got 3 since March, although 1 was from Synchrony (QVC) but Ann Taylor, Ulta, Victoria's (I didn't except VS) they all worked, also Good Sam's/Camping World Visa I was also a sct but because I didn't won't the store card and the Visa turned out to not be a definte (csr said it was, but I re-read the fine print) I didn't touch it.
