What is your normal spend? What cards do you like using on a regular basis?

Cards with 500 dollar limits and random store cards would be the first go imo.

Justice, Serta, Buckle, Express, that kind of stuff to me is easy picking for closing. Too often you end up going there just to keep the card active and buy things that you don't need. I also don't see much point in a $500  buypower card. It's not like that kind of limit is really going to help you with purchasing a car, and the rewards are so restrictive (what if you decide you don't want a GM? useless rewards).

The more general purpose cards...you have to just weed out what does and doesn't fit your lifestyle/goals. Personally, I think you only need one or the other between Quicksilver and Double Cash. Although I don't love Capital One, the rewards program on the Quicksilver is far more cut and dry vs the Double Cash, so if you were gonna pick one, I'd opt for that, unless your general spend is so high that 0.5% more is a large difference. That said, some people would rather deal with Citi than Capital One, rewards program percieved hassles notwithstanding.

Re: Looking for input on cards to close

What's your utilization normally like? I'd be wary of closing too many of them off if it will put you above 30% utilization. Just something to keep in mind.

Re: Looking for input on cards to close

I'm good there as the only cards I have balances on are citi BofA and lowes and that's only because of 0% intro rates and special financing and no of the 3 are above 30% it I I would like for my "real credit cards" to grow and I think having a lot of store cards or smaller limit cards is holding me back
