I opened my Macy's card online as a store card in July 2020 ($500 limit). Between opening and January 2022 I received multiple CLI's tp $10300 limit.
During the first week of March 2022, I had been reading through the forum and noticed all the upgrades; so I went looking to see if I had an offer. I didn't sadly... so I did some research, and decided my scores appeared to be good enough to hold two Macy's cards and attempted to apply for the Amex version of the card.
I received a 7-10 message when I hit submit, and two days later I recieved an email stating my application had been denied for too many inquiries.
To my surprise, this afternoon... I received an email with an upgrade offer!! I clicked the link, it took me to Macy's where it asked me to sign in... as soon as I signed in there was a banner at the bottom of the page telling me I was eligible for the upgrade.
I went ahead and accepted the offer... 25.24% APR which happens to be the same as the store card is/was.
Maybe I was actually rejected the Amex version because I was already in the works for this upgrade (no alerts so far of a HP --- previous reports I've read say it's done with a SP).
