Macy's CLI Recon Call - Is it worth it?

Hey folks,

So I did all my holiday shopping this weekend and applied for and was approved for a Macy's card (not sure if its the AMEX) but when I called to inquire about my limit via the automated system I learned my limit was $600.00  and I'm not too happy with that considering I was also approved for a Dillards AMEX with a $1000.00 limit the same day.  Should I just take the $600.00 or do you think it's worth a recon call to inquire about a  CLI?

In My Wallet: AZSTCU Visa (13K) I Discover It (13K) I Home Depot (8K) I Citi TYP (6.2K) I Amex BCE (6K) I Dillard's Amex (5.5K) I BOA Cash Rewards (5K) I Chase Southwest Visa (3.25K) I Chase Freedom (3.25K) I Lowe's (2.25K) I Macy's (1.3K)

Re: Macy's CLI Recon Call - Is it worth it?

Pshh my sister got a $300 CL $600 sounds pretty good for me maybe you should just keep and create a great payment histoty and request a cli in the next 4 to 6 months? I ve see some great current cli, one guy from the forums got his CL from $300 to $1,500 maybe you can go from $600 to $2000. If you show them you can mange your credit limit correctly. Smiley Happy

Take the limit and use it good...I started out with 300 on Dec 2011, increased to 1000 after 6 months and just got an increase last month to 2500 on a requested CLI SP...they are generous when it comes to CLI...i went from 300 to 2500 in one year. Wait at least 3 months and then ask for one.

I would call in for a cli. Worse they can say is NO. You already took the hard hit for the inq.

It will grow. I started out with a $600 Macy's limit as well years ago and it eventually grew to $1,500 on its own, without even making any purchases.
