“We are excited to be able to bring the benefits of this American Express partnership to Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s customers,” said Tom Cole, Macy’s chief administrative officer. “The new co-branded American Express cards will continue to support the Macy’s Star Rewards and Bloomingdale’s Insider loyalty programs. We expect a smooth transition for our customers without interruption to their shopping experience.”
Okay, Macy's is partnering with City Bank, to issue an American Express credit card. But my BBRC is currently backed by HSBC.
Is HSBC also a city backed bank?
I thought they were "The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation".
So many banks, so little time . . . . <sigh>

I'm not understanding your question. What does your Best Buy card or HSBC have to do with Macy's, American Express, or the article posted?
HSBC is definitiey not Citi Bank. Don't understand the question either.

You are correct. Citi and HSBC are two totally different animals.
Interesting how Macy's Visa will be replaced by Macy's AmEx. I'm looking forward to the new card.
To bad they did not make it like a Costco Amex. Heck maybe if it was one simple CL.

Did you mean to say DSNB, not HSBC?
My Macy's Visa card is issued by DSNB. I was confused by this press release, because I didn't think that my Macy's Visa had any connection to Citi. I just learned on Wikipedia that DSNB is part of some Citi-related alliance. Interesting.

Thanks for the replies. Maybe I should rename myself "Its-me-the-idiot-again".
Yes, thank you; it is DSNB who backs my Macy's Visa. So DNSB is connected with Citi . . . thant's interesting; I wonder if Macy's will still maintain the same rewards program.

I've got a question for you ... what exactly is the Macy's rewards program? I look over my statements and stuff pretty well and have never seen anything other than some free in-store services depending on one's level.
It's called the Macy's Star Rewards Program, according to the article it will remain identical when the card changes over to amex from visa.
