Macy's

My sister just called and asked me what I thought about this situation:

She went online to Macy's to apply for a credit card.  She went through the application process and submitted.  She then got a response saying "Thanks for applying"!  Nothing else just "thanks for applying"  What do you all think this means?   Any comments would be helpful and appreciated!

Thank you, I will lether know.  I just need to find a number for her.  I know I have seen a backdoor number around here somewhere.
