Macys Upgrade to AMEX

Has anyone done this before? If so could you tell us your score, current balance on normal macys credit card, and credit UTILIZATION and inquries when upgrading to AMEX THANKS!

It's not upgrade. They will open a separate Macy's Amex if you get approved.  They will pull hard from EXP. I heard they need over 700 to get approved for Macy's Amex. My MACY'S AMEX has rewards and I don't know it's for all of them. I use it once every three or four months.

My bad yes Ive heard that it will report as a new acct. Has anyone opened a new amex acct after reviewing your macys store acct?

How long do you have the Macy's card?  I had the Macy's card for over two years when I applied for Macy's Amex.  I used it almost every month.

since 11/09 and current balance is @2,100 CL is $2.500 i did a via chat and the lady told me that having a high balance doesnt matters. Im currently at ELITE status.

can confirm rep said it was a seperate account. 

had my macys card for 2 years next month with a 3.5k limit and 0 balance usually reporting. 184 right now since i bought a few work shirts. 

rep said it will be a hard credit inq. they can "upgrade" but will just be a new account and close my old one if thats what i wanted too do. i said i was just looking for info and  didnt want any pulls on my credit.

Score: somwhere around 730-760, not sure because tons of new accounts were reporting

Balance: none

Utilisation: None? If not that, it wa less than ten percent

Inquiries: 14? Maybe some more or less

I was approved a few days afterwards for a 5000 limit.

i applied and approved for macys amex at the store today. i have $100 bal on my macys store card with a 2k cl, i had that card since may '10.

my score on all CR is around 730-760

macy's amex is tough.....

I got one recently on a splurge.  high 700s credit score and 6 figure income.  Only approved for 1K limit.
