Re: Major Changes to AMEX Delta Cards

When I check the Bag Fees section on a reservation, it starts with the Bag Fee amounts, no exceptions noted even though I am Silver Medallion. Following the "View Details" link goes to the Bag Fees page where there is a section on "Delta SkyMiles American Express Card Members" where the language gets specific about using the Delta AMEX to pay for the booking. Whether this gets enforced this way to be seen.

Re: Major Changes to AMEX Delta Cards

For as long as I can remember, the bag fees have shown on that screen regardless of your allowance as a Medallion member or Delta cardholder.  It still shows that the first checked bag is free for Medallion and SkyMiles Amex card members, and those do stack.  In fact, as a PM I have three 70 lb bags free (3x50 lb on Premium Select, or 1 additional 50 lb on international flights) for being a Medallion member, that stacks on top of the free 50 lb bag as a cardholder.  (For FO/Silver, it's the same except you get just one of those 70 lb bags free on Basic Economy, Main Cabin, or Comfort+ domestic flights.)

The other language where it says "booked with" has not changed; for as long as I can recall, it's been there.  The key phrase there is "booked with," not "paid with" but that could certainly have been worded better.  As long as the SkyMiles Amex is linked to your account, the bag waiver is there.  Just to alleviate your concerns, here's the same page from the Wayback Machine from 14 months ago showing the same "booked with" language.

I don't think Amex would want to deal with the fallout from Delta flyers if passengers who have a Delta card suddenly started getting charged for bags when paying through Amex Travel or with a 5x-earning Platinum charge card instead of their Delta card, so that policy is extremely unlikely to change to match other airlines that do have that policy on their cards.

Amex Delta Reserve - Purple

Sorry if this is a repeat.  I received the marketing for the Delta Reserve today 100,000 miles, 20,000 MQMs, and I have to tell you... if I was going for a card solely on looks, this purple had me hooked.  Reminds me of the previous infamous hotel card.  I have the Amex Platinum so this would be far too redundant, but like the look and offer.

Re: Major Changes to AMEX Delta Cards

I believe all American Express charge cards have been originally issued or replaced with the contactless version for some time now.  The business version I received last week was contactless, and I believe all new cards introduced or refreshed post-Platinum have been contactless by default.

Re: Major Changes to AMEX Delta Cards

Have you received your new Reserve KIB? I ordered mine in a rush and didn't select expedited shipping. Should be here Monday or Tuesday.

No.  Mine was produced yesterday and is scheduled for arrival on Monday.  The personal and business Platinum SkyMiles cards are scheduled for Wednesday the 19th.  I ordered all 3 on "launch day" and expedited shipment was not available as an option.  Remedios received hers yesterday; she did call them though.  I'm not in too much of a rush; I still have about $14k of spending to go on BizPlat for the SUB so Reserve isn't seeing any spending.

Well, mine was replaced last January and isn't contactless. Guess I'll have to order yet another one.

Delta Amex - 100K Miles offer, free TSA precheck, comp ticket

Hey,

Has anyone seen the new Delta Amex offer?

Im interested in the platinum card with the 100k Miles, free TSA precheck, and yearly companion ticket mainly. I’m just curious about any opinions from others.
