Re: Delta Amex - 100K Miles offer, free TSA precheck, comp ticket

It's a good offer, not for me, but its a good offer. Platinum is one of the better cards in delta line up after the refresh.

Same here, FortifiedHM. Looks like a great card though!

I’ve been browsing through all the options. Opinions?

It's okay, but personally, MQM bonus is a must for me to consider it great. If you don't care about status or frequent flyer/loyalty, then yes, this can be considered as a great offer. 100k, I believe, is an all-time high offer for the Platinum.

(I really should stay away from this forum. The Reserve offer is tempting me.)

The page is intentionally or unintentionally deceptive.
I predict some people will apply for Delta Platinum thinking that they will have Centurion lounge access.
Confusing enough given that charge and Delta Platinum both called Platinum.

How is it deceptive?  There's a very clear checkmark under Reserve and a very clear empty space under Platinum.

Fair reply.
If you look at the page on a tablet or mobile device, the check marks are there but I do not think it is as clear.

Will be completely clear to readers of this forum but I still think it will confuse some people that just do a quick drive by.

Edit: Typical forum poster or reader here will know the Amex lineup better than the typical Amex CSR, but we are an infinitesimal percentage of the general public.

Edit two: I have already been in Delta lounges this month and encountered flyers with Delta Gold surprised to learn that they had lost the ability to buy lounge access.

Some people are really slow to catch on to card changes, or don't look at details. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Year's I went into a Sky Club for 4 departures and maybe 1 or 2 arrivals. One time a college kid behind me in line was trying to use Priority Pass to enter. Another time a guy was surprised his Amex Platinum didn't include free guest access for his wife and two not-that-small kids.

I know someone who flies Delta enough to have earned Platinum status and mentioned that Amex had given her "the black card"...

...which was, in fact, the very dark green typical of the old Delta Reserve.

Personal spend: Amex Gold, Amex Schwab Plat., BofA PR+CCR(x2), Costco
Business use: Amex Bus. Plat., BBP, Lowes Amex AU, CFU AU
Perks: Delta Plat., United Explorer, IHG49, Hyatt, "Old SPG"
Mostly SD: Freedom Flex, Freedom, Arrival
Upgrade/Downgrade games: ED, BCE
SUB chasing: AA Platinum Select

Re: Delta Amex - 100K Miles offer, free TSA precheck, comp ticket

After some serious thought, I decided to call in and canclel my Delta Gold as it just doesn't work for me and didn't want to get hit with another AF. My 2nd anniversary hits in April I believe, but after talking with the CSR I ended up just downgrading to Blue. He made it sound like If I didn't have an open CC I wouldn't be able pay with miles etc. and I still had 40K left.

I log in yesterday and saw that there was a $12 and change credit for the AF, so that was a bit surprising as I didn't think they reimburse partials? Especially so far into the year.
