Making payments from your bank

I only use mobile apps or the credit company's website to log in and pay. Do you find any benefit from pushing payments directly from your bank account?

Re: Making payments from your bank

if it's the same bank, usually the credit becomes available right away.

i think it's just a lot more convenient than having to drop by a branch or mail stuff. it's easy to track too. if the mail gets lost, it's just one big mess as well.

Re: Making payments from your bank

True. Making payments from Chase to Chase gives me that credit immediately (very convenient). However I haven't had any other use cases.

Re: Making payments from your bank

It helps with Citibank if you can't or don't meet the minimum balance requirement (6K) in your checking/savings  account. If you make a payment directly from your account they waive the $15 monthly fee.

Re: Making payments from your bank

I bank with a credit union so nothing is linked. I like to pay with the mobile apps for Chase, Discover, Cap1, and Barclays. BB and Orchard get paid through website because they don't have mobile apps.

Re: Making payments from your bank

American Express also takes payments immediately on their mobile app. The available credit will reflect payments immediately and then the actual payment activity (balance) will reflect the next day--even Sundays!

Re: Making payments from your bank

I prefer to push payment from Wells Fargo's bill pay site because I don't have to log into every CCC's website and make individual payments. With WF bill pay, I just enter amounts and hit sumbit. Its just quicker and more convenient.

Also, I like Bill Pay better because the money is gone out of my account by the next day. Using the CCC's websites, it sometimes takes 3-4 days for the ACH payment to clear.
