Quick question. I might be going to Canada early next year to vsit friends and I've looked and it seems like Canada takes MasterCards > everything else. I do not have a MasterCard, have a Amex and two Visa's. Does anyone know who gives out Mastercard with NO foreign travel fees? My other cards have the foreign fee so I'm interested in getting one without.
My scores range from the low 700's up. I have 3 inquiries on my Ex (2 from this past year, 1 from 12/2011), no inquiries on the other two bureas. My oldest card is 8 years, newest is my BCP opened this past April. My debt ultilazation is currently 28%, (over 70% on one card) but I should have it paid off by december to <5% ultil overall. Income 35-40K. Don't plan on applying for MasterCard until next year at the earliest that way I can use the (possible) sign up bonus while in Canada. I am more interested in seeing if anyone knows of MasterCards that are given without the foreign fee. Thanks in advance!
If you can app for the CSP MC it has no FTF.

NFCU goRewards doesn't charge FOREX fees.
Is chip and pin that bad in Canada now? I was considering a quick end of summer weekend in Toronto.

I lived in Canada my whole life until two years ago. Anywhere that takes MasterCard, will also take Visa. If you are just getting the card because of acceptance, don't bother. Focus on getting a Visa/ or MC with chip/PIN. You won't find many places that will swipe with signature anymore as of the last few years. Maybe in smaller cities or in a taxi.
Chip&Pin options are still extremely limited here (and most will default to chip & sig anyway). Is it just swipe that is a problem, and chip&sig will still work?
