will get more in the future
oh why does chase have sooo many cards that i want
Fortunately, I've never had to speak to an underwriter or recon CSR. I've also been fortunate enough to never have to move limits to open cards. Otherwise, I'm not really sure what kind of conversation I would end up having with an underwriter. My first Chase card (Freedom) many years ago is the only Chase card I have ever seen the dreaded 7-10 day message with. I recently paid off a rather hefty auto loan with them, so I'm sure that helped with my recent approvals.

I'm eyeing the IHG card.Do you have to recon to get your cards with chase now or are they still instant approvals? Are you having to give up credit lines on other cards?
I didnt recon any of them. They were all instant approvals. Actually, for my Hyatt, i had to call in to confirm my identity and that was it. I haven't had to move any credit from existing cards either.
Also, is anyone else getting a pop up asking you to become a "Chase Private Client"?
I don't recall a popup, but I keep getting mail about it.

Nope
I have four Chase cards. Slate, Freedom, CSP and Marriott. I don't use the Slate at all any more but love the other ones that I have. I'm probably at max exposure with them for me now.
Was 5 cards, currently 4
Freedom 6.6k
CSP 10k
Amtrak 4.6k
SouthWest 20k
Slate
my latest is a Chase Debit card no plans on using came with the $200 openning bonus
Will definitely go for the CSP at some point, maybe the slate for the free EX. Can't really think of anything else I'd need since I'm not a heavy traveler.
I have 6 in my signature, going to app for 7 and 8 soon

I wouldn't if I were in your shoes. I will say this again, Chase is notorious for approving cards and upon monthly reviews shut down all cards. 7 maybe but 8 I'd stay away from.
Do a quick search with via google when you have time and you will see what I am talking about.
