Have a $4k bill due soon. Have $5k CL available on Amex Blue. Want to use the Amex for points.

Should I make ONE charge for the full $4k or TWO charges for $2k ea?

If two, I'd charge $2k and PIF, then run the 2nd $2k thru.

Questioning which would look best in the eyes of Amex.

I'd warn them-

and then do the whole 4K.

Just do it and PIF it on the due date. As long as you're not carrying balances they shouldn't care.
