Multiple Chase "your offers" - green checkmark

Hi all,

This seems like a very knowledgable place, I've read many threads here over the years but this is my first post.

So I've had a Chase Slate card for a couple of years that I used for a balance transfer and paid off. It's currently at $0. I kept checking it (online) to see if another balance transfer opportunity pressented itself, but it didn't. I did, though, notice the "Your offers" section with the green check marks next to the offers. I looked it up on this forum and read that they were basically guaranteed approvals. There were 4 or 5 different offers - a Freedom, Freedom Unlimited, and CSP card. I picked the Freedom because of the 15 month 0% interest, submitted my info, and boom - $4,000 CL, approved. After I did that, I noticed that the other offers were still there, still with green check marks. So I picked the Freedom Unlimited, submitted my info, boom - another $4k.

So I'm in great shape - $8k worth of 0% interest for 15 months. Thing is, there are still offers there with the green checkmark: there's the CSP and there's still one for a Freedom card. So I've read here that the 5/24 doesn't count for the offers with the green checkmark. What I'm wondering is: should I get greedy? I mean heck, if they're willing to give me another 0% for 15 months, I'd take it. But I don't want to try a 3rd time (in a week) and have them all of the sudden go, "Hold on there, Charlie, no dice" and either reject me, or worse yet, reject me and pull the other two cards they just gave me (I haven't physically received them yet and haven't started the transfer process).

What say ye? Green checkmark, go for it? Or just be happy with what you've got and sit tight.

Thanks!

With Chase I would probably hold off on doing more than 2 in a day.  They are pretty much guaranteed approvals that bypass 5/24.  If you do want a CSP, I would wait until the offer comes back in a few months.  (In my experience after grabbing my CSP, the offers for Freedom Unlimited and Slate disappeared after a few days, but then came back a few months later.)

Hey, thanks for your reply - to be clear, the two I got were a week ago. The offers I mentioned - the other Freedom and the CSP - are still there, with the green checkmarks.

Only 2 cards in 30 days with Chase. You need to wait at least that long before trying again.

That would seem to make sense! I just found it odd that the offers are still there.

Now that I think about it, maybe the offers did stick around for a week or two before disappearing for me.  I did a mini-spree the first quarter so it kinda runs together.

The two offers are still sitting there, for the CSP and another Freedom... it's so tempting. I'm going to wait until the balance transfers are through on the two cards I got the other day, though. I don't want to screw those 0%/15 months up.

The best combination with Chase is CSP/Freedom or CSP/FU.  If I were you I would not be looking to get a 4th credit card with the same company.  If you do a little research you can find a way to combine your Slate into one of the new cards you have (minus $500) and then you'd be left with an ideal 2 cards from Chase.

The Slate served the purpose you got it for and now it has little to no value.

Maybe even if you have more than a $1,500 line on your Slate, that could be turned into a Visa Signature once one of your new Chase cards goes at or above the $5,000 mark.  Don't know if you'd ever use any of the services of a Signature Visa but it makes one feel special.

Just because you got 2 Chase cards for $4,000 each (while Chase didn't offer you $8,000 on the first one) it doesn't mean they are not aware of your exposure with them.

Everybody can have a catastrophic event happen in their life.  It almost feels a little like bragging that you have 7 Chase cards.

Mess up on one and you could lose all 7.  Will your utilization be dramatically changed if you lose those 7 cards?

I would never recommend anyone allowing one single lender that much power over them.
