Just wanted to share some more Cap 1 success. Two years ago I was sitting at a 540 credit score. Applied for and got my first unsecured Cap 1 Platinum card with a measely $300 limit. That card had the credit steps and went to $500 after 6 months of use. After only having my Platinum card for three months I applied for and was approved for a Quicksilver One with a $1000 limit. That card also had credit steps and went to $1500 after six months of use. Fast forward to a year after owning my Quicksilver One (Jan of 2020) and spending close to $4000 a month on it and paying in full multiple times a month I hit the CLI button and was given a $6500 limit on my QS1 card. My platinum only gave me a $100 limit to $600 but I had also stopped using it by this time.
Now for the fun part! After using my QS1 card heavily for the last 5 months and paying in full I decided to see if I had any upgrades available and VOILA! My QS1 is now a Venture One card with a $6500 limit. I can apply for another CLI next month since Cap1 only allows a CLI every six months. My guess is they will give me at leas a $10k limit on the Venture card.
So to those of you struggling with Cap1 there is hope. My credit scores are average 620-640 today as I still have things that won't fall off for another year. So I'm pretty happy having gone from a QS1 with a $1000 limit to a Venture one with a $6500 limit just for being a good customer.
Congratulations on your Capital One CLI and upgrade!
Congrats on the success with Cap1!!
Nice work! Cap1 has been nothing but great to me through the years. My Ven1 also started as a QS1 with a 1k limit. Use them heavily and pay on time and Cap1 will show their love. Congrats!
Congrats on your Cap One success!
You should be happy. Great job! I have an attachment to my Cap One cards, so this is good news to hear. I'm going to focus on my QS1 more.
Congratulations! Great story!!
