Re: My Creditor is Helping Me Thread. #TeamMyFICO

Credit Sesame sent me this detailed list of all the banks and what assistance they are offering.

It's helpful. I'm going to call Bank of America now and see if they can extent my 0% APR deal that is supposed to expire in May. I was going to pay it off in full this mth but if I have more time to spread out the payments I would rather do that.

Re: My Creditor is Helping Me Thread. #TeamMyFICO

Spoke with a CSR at BB&T today in regards to deferment on an auto loan.  He was rude and condescending and ultimately, after being spoken to as though I insulted his wife, I said forget it.  It seems as though they are offering deferment of loans they are just extremely rude about it.

TBH I've never been a fan of BB&T customer service.  This simply cemented my lack of interest in them as a FI.

Ally took 10 seconds on line, BB&T not so much.  Hold time was about an hour.

Re: My Creditor is Helping Me Thread. #TeamMyFICO

Not sure how all this works so please be patient in your replies...

If we do defer a loan through Ally, like they are offering, will this have a negative effect on credit score?

I know I need to do what's best for me during this crisis, but don't want my hard work for the past two years to go out the window.

Thanks in advance for your response.

Re: My Creditor is Helping Me Thread. #TeamMyFICO

Just got a call from my BofA branch banker, the one who opened my personal and business credit cards. I thought he was calling to wish me Happy Birthday, instead of just an email, like Target, Ulta and Starbucks, lol!
He stated that he was calling from a recorded line and seemed flustered, so I texted him on his cell, after we said a hasty hello, asking him was everything okay, like REALLY okay???

We won't go into detail on how paranoid I am when it comes to banks and lenders... in general.

He texted back saying that BofA wants to let their customers know, especially small business owners that they are there for them during this time, and when I pressed for more, asking about reduced APRs, he said "I wish, but payments can be deferred a few months, if necessary".
Something is better than nothing and the call was a personalized touch (+ I have his cell numberSmiley Happy
