My secured Wells Fargo graduation showed up on line today with the low $300.00 limit I had on the secured card. I’d like to ask for a CLI when I activate the new card but not knowing my limit don’t want to risk a hard pull. Maybe I should wait for an auto increase. How should I use this card? Any advise. I want higher limits hoping to boost my scores and not for the available credit.
In May I’m applying for cards from DCU, Alliant, Sdfcu, Chase Freedom BCE and BofA 123.
Scores allowing of course.
Oldest card 7/12/2012, One collection and 8 inquiries highest limit $700.00 with Wal-Mart and a new (7/26/2013) used car loan with DCU for $4,800.00 which I plan on paying off in 7 months.
Any advice?
Wal-mart DCU Wells Fargo ITP 8/18/2013

You may be waiting for the rest of your life to get an Auto CLI from Wells.
My limit is so low that I'll just pay bills with it and see what happens.
They told me it would be a SP. Though I did read here or on another forum that it's always a SP up to the maxium amount of credit anyone individual is allowed. Thing is they will not tell you what that limit is nor will they counter. So if you ask for $4,800.00 and your limit is $5,000.00 soft pull $5,001.00 HP.

Limits are not factored into any of the scoring models used by lenders.
Then I should be happy with my credit levels and consentrate on a longer history. In May app and be good with what I get.
I always PIF and leave 1% of total credit to report.
Are your scores like mine?
Is your history short and credit limit low like mine is?
How much did you ask for?
Did you get the increase you asked for?
