I just wanted to say thanks to this forum and everyone here. 3 years ago I was sitting at a 513 credit score. I made lots of mistakes when I was younger and they caught up with me over time
I started reading these boards and learned many things about credit. I applied for 2 Capital One cards two years ago and was approved for a 500 dollar limit. I also applied for a First Premier Bank card at this time and was approved for a $ 350 limit (Which I will finally be closing next week, it served its purpose well).
I started using these cards responsibly and started challenging the baddies I had on my credit report. I managed to get quite a few derogatory marks removed and the rest fell off with time.
Fast forward to 1 week ago. I decided to check my credit score here on MyFico and was shocked to see my 513 credit score had turned into a 670. I was ecstatic.
I read all the success stories of people emailing Capital One so I sent out an email myself and within a week I was able to turn those $500 dollar credit limits into $1000 credit limits. I was pretty excited.
Then I started reading all the great threads regarding the Discover IT card. After reading thread after thread on the IT card, I decided to be brave and apply. I figured it was worth a shot since I had 0 hard inquiries on my report. I applied last Friday and was approved instantly for a $1500 credit limit. It was a great sense of accomplishment to get not only approved for a prime card but to have a pretty decent starting limit too.
I couldn't of done any of this without the information on these forums. A huge thanks to everyone here and to MyFico for providing this great resource.

I am hoping once my utilization drops I can finally get my credit score in the 700s. I plan on buying a house next year and a 700 credit score is one of my goals.
