My garden is ready to grow....clean up complete!

In May  2013 I began as a member on this site and with all the knowledge provided and through reading numerous posts, I have cleaned up my report, my cards and now I am set to garden (2 weeks in there already).  I've completed all my tasks today so I am officially ready to watch for growth!

Below is a tally of what I've closed and kept/opened:

Closed: None of these are my oldest card.

Target (500)

Dell (3000)

Macys (500)

VS (1350)

Loft (1150)

Nieman Marcus (1,000)

USAA FSB (1,000) Fee

Cap1 (750 ) Fee

Capt 1 (1000) Fee

HSBC (300)

Kept/Opened:

Chase Freedom** (2005) CL $5000 (started at $400) 1 HP increase - moved 1,000 from new Chase card

Norstrom (2005) CL $2500 (started at $500) 2 requested SP increases

Citi Dividend Mastercard (2006) CL 2000 (working on this but the CLD'd me back in May - balance chasers but I'm determined to show them I'm credit worthy)

CFNA Firestone (2012) CL $2200 (started at $1700 -auto CLI)

Amazon Storecard - GE (2012) CL $5,000 (started at $700) 2 requested SP Increases

JCREW (2011) CL $1,3500 (started at $250) auto and requested SP increases

BR Visa - Opened as storecard 2007, transferred in 2012 as Visa - CL$4,000 (started at $400) - auto CLI & requested SP Increase

BofA - 5/2013 - CL $12,000 (started at $6,000) 1 HP increase 8/2013

Discover It - 6/2013 CL $1200

Chase Southwest** - 7/2013 CL $6,500

CSP** - 8/2013 CL $10,000

AMEX BCE-8/2013 CL $10,000

**I moved some of the chase initial CL's around to where I saw fit for my use. I will be closing the Chase SW and moving that to my CSP as I realized after the fact that I would benefit more from the CSP**.

The CSP has not hit my CR yet....but otherwise, my oldest account was opened 10 years ago and my current AAofA is 5 years. Zero Collections, 2 baddies (2007/2009 - each 30 days late).

I have a Personal loan and student loans - 2 paid car loans.

I'm excited to see my new portfolio laid out and I'm thrilled that all this work has paid off!! It's so interesting how far behind I was and couldn't have gotten where I am today without the knowledge I have gained over the last 3 months! Plan on gardening until I apply for my mortgage....hooray!

Very nicely done! I think you'll be really happy with the growth potential of your new seedlings.

Thanks-I still feel like I have too many accounts for me, but I don't want to give any others up! My next hurdle is to figure out how I can maintain them all so they won't be closed due to inactivity. Smiley Happy

Keep what you feel comfortable with managing. Give it a few months to reevaluate your line up and if they don't work for you...then close them.

Re: My garden is ready to grow....clean up complete!

Good cards plant them deep for max growth and your garden will flourish

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?
